Take your video editing skills to the next level with Premiere Pro. Our blog offers insider tips and tricks that can help you streamline your workflow and create polished, high-quality videos.

Motion Blur & the Transform Effect

The Transform effect is a powerful tool that can be used to animate text or pictures in a variety of ways. By applying the Transform effect to your footage, you have a secondary control over many aspects of your footage, including position, scale, and rotation. One of the key benefits of the Transform effect is that it allows you to customize Motion Blur based entirely on the movement of elements in your shot. This creates a subtle effect that adds that necessary layer of polish to your video.

Bezier Keyframes

Adding Bezier keyframes adds a degree of realism to your elements. It creates a realistic “ease-in” and “ease-out” effect on any movement, making it look much more natural. The best part is that it’s incredibly simple and can be done in just two steps. This can help keep your footage from looking cheap and unrealistic.

Speed Graphs

A version of the speed graph is available for your keyframes inside of Adobe Premiere Pro as well, and it’s very easy to use. After making a keyframe, go to that particular aspect (Position, for example). Click the arrow to the left of the stopwatch to drop down the speed graph for that parameter and allow you to customize with maximum freedom.

Track Mattes

Track mattes are available to create inside of Premiere Pro, which takes an element found on a layer above it and uses it as a map for what to display and what not to display. This effect allows you to create a solid object and tell Premiere to only show text when it’s located on top of that object. This is a powerful tool that can help you avoid needing to do complicated masking that can be tedious and time-consuming.

Automate to Sequence

Automate to Sequence is a feature that allows you to automatically layout clips in line with a music track. To use this feature, make use of markers on the beat, select the video clips you want to add the music to, and click on Automate to Sequence from the bar, making sure that it’s set to At Unnumbered Markers. Doing this will automatically layout the clips in line with the music track.

A Better Ease In

To create a smoother transition between clips, you can use Temporary Interpolation > Ease In. This feature can help enhance your video by adding an additional clip or logo to create a polished and professional-looking video.

Swap or Replace Clips

To align the position of shots with music, you can use the Swap or Replace Clips feature. This feature allows you to adjust the position of the shots and align them with the music, creating a seamless and polished video.
